Inclement Weather Protocol

Salon closure due to inclement weather

• Factors considered for closure will include:

  • Severity and duration of the weather event

  • Safety of employees and clients traveling to and from the salon

  • Local government advisories and road closures

• If the salon is closed, all employees will be notified as soon as possible via:

  • Salon group chat

  • Facebook - Tangerine Salon Peeps

If the salon is to remain open

• Employees are expected to report to work as scheduled unless:

  • They are unable to safely travel to and from work due to hazardous road conditions.

  • They have a documented emergency (e.g., power outage at home, childcare issues due to school closure).

• Employees who choose not to come to work due to concerns about inclement weather, even if the salon remains open, will be required to:

  • Make up the missed day by working an equivalent number of hours on another day.

  • This must be agreed upon and scheduled with your salon manager in advance.

Communication:

• Employees are encouraged to communicate with their salon manager promptly if they are unable to come to work due to inclement weather.

• Your salon manager will communicate any changes to the salon's schedule or operations to clients as soon as possible.
